Nantaise sardines baked in foil
Garden vegetables and Muscadet: a tribute to the Nantes region
To be served hot, this recipe is a tribute to the Nantes region.
A marriage of sardines, garden vegetables - the tomatoes, onions, garlic, and parsley - that are grown so abundantly in the market gardens along the banks of the Loire, and Muscadet. These subtle flavours come together with great finesse.
Run the tin under hot water to remove the contents more easily.
These sardines can be heated:
- In a frying pan: 3 to 4 minutes, turning from time to time, over very low heat to preserve the soft texture of the flesh
- In the microwave: approximately 1 minute at 500W.
- In the oven: preheat to 180 °C and heat for about 7 minutes in a dish, or 10 minutes wrapped in parchment paper.
Sardines (70%), churned butter (milk) (10.6%), cider vinegar (sulphites), onions (4%), spirit vinegar, tomato, garlic, salt, sunflower oil, parsley (0.5%), Muscadet (sulphites) (0.3%), potato starch.
