Rillettes of sardines marinated in Muscadet
Chilli pepper (piment) + tomato + garlic (ail) = Pitomaïl
A recipe created by Georges Hilliet, the cannery’s founder, who was in the habit of preparing a spicier version of the sardines with tomato for his personal consumption.
Here, the sardines are covered with a delicious sauce made of chilli pepper (piment), tomato and garlic (aïl) (hence “Pitomaïl”) to create a bold combination.
Sardines (70%), peanut oil (10.6%), extra-virgin olive oil, tomato concentrate (7.8%), water, salt, spirit vinegar, mild chilli pepper (0.08%), natural garlic flavouring (0.07%), guar flour, flavouring.
