Pistou sardines on toast
A classic Provence recipe!
A delicious combination of flavours: sardines, tomatoes, peppers and pistou (a Provençal sauce made with garlic, basil and olive oil).
A recipe that evokes all the flavours of Provence…
Run the tin under hot water to remove the contents more easily.
These sardines can be heated:
- In a frying pan: 3 to 4 minutes, turning from time to time, over very low heat to preserve the soft texture of the flesh
- In the microwave: approximately 1 minute at 500W.
- In the oven: preheat to 180 °C and heat for about 7 minutes in a dish, or 10 minutes wrapped in parchment paper.
Sardines (55%), water, extra-virgin olive oil, tomato concentrate (5.7%), red peppers, onions, garlic (1.4%), salt, spirit vinegar, basil (0.6%), tomato powder, potato starch, yeast extract, thickener: guar flour, herbs, spices, natural basil flavouring.
