Fisherman’s main course soup with red onions
A complete, balanced meal
When the boats returned, the crew were entitled to a small proportion of the catch. They would cook this with vegetables from their gardens to make a rich soup meal. La Belle-Iloise Cannery has recreated this traditional dish with white wine, conger eel, prawns, lobster and aromatic flavourings cooked in a richly flavoured broth with pieces of pollock, potatoes and vegetables.

Water, fish (18%) including pollock (8%), potatoes (11%), onions (7%), fennel (4%), white wine (sulphites), prawns, leeks (2%), lobster, extra virgin olive oil, tomato concentrate, herbs (0.6%), salt, yeast extract, thickener: xanthan gum - dried seaweed, spices.
