What you need for this recipe


All ingredients
  • 2 tins 1/10 (160 g) la belle-iloise “Flavours of Provence” flaked sardines
  • 80 g basmati rice
  • 2 small untreated oranges
  • 2 cocktail tomatoes
  • Juice ½ lemon
  • 4 pinches chopped chervil
  • For decoration: 1 fennel frond or sprig of chervil.
Let's get started


  1. Cook the rice in salted water and leave to cool.
  2. Remove some of the zest from the oranges for decoration then cut off all the skin and membranes to obtain just the flesh, cut this into small cubes.
  3. Quarter the tomatoes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the cooked rice, flaked sardines, pieces of orange, tomatoes, chopped chervil and lemon juice.
  5. Decorate with a frond of fennel or a sprig of chervil and the finely sliced orange zest.
  6. Serve thoroughly chilled.
  • For a more gourmet effect, use a mixture of wild and basmati rice.
