Iliens the shuttle that sets sails

Maritime passenger transport has a direct impact on atmospheric and ocean pollution.

Here in Morbihan, almost a million people travel to Belle-Île-en-Mer every year, with no alternative but to use motorized sea links. That's a lot of people.

At la belle-iloise, we're convinced that our journeys, like our food choices, can contribute to a sustainable world. We're not saying that our teams won't take the car to work, but we're initiating good practices to encourage everyone to travel with a conscience.

So, when we heard about Léon, Inès and Jonas' slightly crazy project, we thought it was only natural to support an initiative like this on the Quiberon peninsula.

Iliens is the first regular sailing shuttle service between Quiberon and Belle-Île-en-Mer. In fact, it's the very first regular sailing service in France.

And we're delighted to support this project for the future.

In concrete terms, an initial 3-year partnership has been signed between Iliens and la belle-iloise. Our commitment is primarily financial. Because to set up and sustain a project of this kind, money remains the key. But that's not all. Our communications department helps Léon and his crew to make the most of social networks.

In return, the mainsail and solent of Saona, the 20-meter catamaran that can accommodate up to 70 people, were flocked with the company's logo. And the result is just great.

Since May 2021, it has been possible to travel to Belle-Île-en-Mer from Quiberon, or to return to the mainland, while minimizing the impact of the journey.

350 rotations and 8,000 passengers : That's what the Iliens team is aiming to reach by 2022. And to pass the 10,000-passenger mark in 2023.

So the adventure has just begun, and we hope it will give rise to other useful projects like this one!
