The PEP'S interview with The Feebles

La belle-iloise takes to the stage with her new box set Le Tube LBI*

This summer, colour, energy and a sense of togetherness are taking centre stage!

The LBI Tube is a veritable hit parade of culinary delights, comprising three iconic recipes for an aperitif to share on a terrace or on the beach.

Its vibrant, contemporary design is the work of The Feebles, an artistic duo from Nantes with an authentic and cheerful aesthetic. As attractive as it is practical, the box is full of ideas to ensure it’s put to good use: a pencil pot, bathroom storage, a glasses case… it fits in anywhere and keeps the enjoyment going long after the treats have been enjoyed.

To mark their launch, the duo The Feebles are giving us a glimpse inside their studio.

Who are The Feebles?

We are Anaël and Gaëtan, a pair of illustrators from Nantes.

We have been working together as The Feebles for over 20 years.

Our work centres on creativity in various forms: mural art, painting on canvas, sculpture, illustration and art direction.

If you had to describe your world in three words, what would they be?

Vivant: for the use of highly organic graphic forms, often inspired by nature, but also for the dynamism we bring to our compositions.

Colourful : beyond the compositions themselves, it is the pursuit of colour harmony that guides each of our creations.

Balance: the interplay of shapes, colours and materials… everything is carefully considered and balanced to create visuals that are both striking and subtle.

What inspired you to create the visual style of Le Tube la belle-iloise?

Some time ago, we wanted to add a sense of volume to our work, which until then had mainly been two-dimensional. We therefore created a series of wooden sculptures entitled Les Réversibles, pieces designed to have both a front and a back.

We presented this series at a solo exhibition on the Île de Ré in the summer of 2025. Among these sculptures, inspired in part by the island’s atmosphere, were two fish. We then continued to develop this design around this theme in order to adapt it to our collaboration with la belle-iloise, aiming to create a colourful, summery and accessible visual.

This collaboration meant a great deal to us: it enabled us to blend our creative vision seamlessly with that of the brand, as a natural extension of our artistic approach.

What stands out for you about this project?

We really enjoyed working with the teams at la belle-iloise, who gave us a great deal of creative freedom. The brand’s values, its commitment to sustainability and its strong connection to the marine world were a particular source of inspiration for us, as nature plays a vital role in our work.

We also really enjoyed working on a three-dimensional box set: it allowed us to create a design that completely wraps around the box and can therefore be viewed from different angles.

We hope we have created an item that people will enjoy keeping and incorporating into their homes as a genuine decorative feature.
