la belle-iloise adapts to the vagaries of fishing

At la belle-iloise, our mackerel fillets are made from fish caught at peak maturity and in season off the coasts of Scotland and Ireland.

At the beginning of 2026, mackerel fishing quotas were significantly reduced by European institutions, with a reduction of less than 70% for all Member States. With three times less fish available to fishermen, our mackerel season will be significantly shorter than usual and we will not be able to produce our recipes in sufficient quantities.

For this particular 2026 season, we have decided to limit our production and focus on manufacturing Mackerel Fillets based on two recipes:

- Mackerel with Mustard
- Mackerel with White Wine and Herbs

These are already available on the website.

The other five references will be unavailable until next season:

- Mackerel with Tomato
- Mackerel with Olive Oil, Lemon and 5 Berries
- Mackerel with Curry and Almonds
- Mackerel with Bergamot Lemon and Dill
- Mackerel Diablesse Style

The following assortments will also be unavailable this year:

- Assortment of 5 Mackerel Fillets 176g
- Assortment of 7 Mackerel Fillets 112.5g

Finally, we had to review the contents of our gift boxes, replacing the Mackerel Fillets with other products in order to adapt as best we could.

We hope that the 2027 season will see the return of all our recipes...
